Implant-supported Dentures

Our doctors offer implant-supported dentures. If you are missing most or all of your teeth on the upper or lower jaw, or if you have suffered for years with a traditional denture that fits poorly, there is no better solution.

Implant-supported dentures are anchored directly to the jawbone with dental implants, which are special titanium posts designed to replace lost tooth roots. During a consultation, we can determine your candidacy for dental implants and determine the right solution for your needs and provide treatment that helps you experience all the benefits of a complete and healthy smile.

While traditional dentures can restore your appearance, they are extremely limited in the amount of function and comfort they can provide.

About Dental Implants

Dental implants are considered the gold standard in modern restorative dentistry, providing the best benefits for patients with missing teeth. Implants keep your restorations firmly in place as you eat and speak, allowing none of the uncomfortable shifting that can occur with traditional dentures. Implants also prevent the shrinkage of jaw tissue that occurs after the loss of a tooth, making them one of the best investments you can make in a compromised smile.

Unlike traditional dentures, implant-supported dentures are anchored directly to the jawbone for superior stability.

Traditional Implant Dentures

Traditional implants provide the most longevity, but require uncompromised jawbone tissue. As a result, many patients first require bone grafting surgery. After traditional implants are placed, patients wear a temporary restoration three to six months. Once the implants have fully integrated with the jaw, patients are fitted for their permanent denture.

All-on-4® or 6

The All-on-4® (or All-on-6) method is often recommended to patients who have experienced some jaw atrophy, but do not wish to undergo bone grafting. It uses four or six strategically placed implants designed to support dentures on one or both dental arches. The implants are usually inserted at angles to maximize the amount of support the jawbone can provide. After using imaging technology to assess the state of your jaw, the dentist plans the precise placement needed to securely hold new dentures or a partial bridge.

Mini Implants

Mini implants are half the diameter of a standard implant, so jaw bone density is less of an issue. Healing is quick, and dentures can be placed the same day. The dentures are designed to snap on to the mini implants, and are removable for cleaning.
